At lot of people has been waiting for his appearance in Odense Idrætshal all day, and when he entered the court, the crowd got what they had been waiting for.
He is at the top of the world ranking list and it showed this Wednesday night at Yonex Denmark Open. He won convincingly 21-11/21-8 against Dong Keun Lee from Korea.
“It was my first match ever against him, so I didn’t know him that well. But it was a good first match,” Lee Chong Wei says.
Lee Chong Wei won Yonex Denmark Open last year, and he is really happy to be back in Denmark.
“I hope I can win again, but most of all I will just try to enjoy this week as much as I can,” the world’s number one says.
Tomorrow he might face the Danish talent Viktor Axelsen, but he doesn’t know much about his opponent, even though he has meet him four times before, and won every match.
“He’s playing on home right? Well I just take one match at a time,” Lee Wei says.
