The talented Line Kjærsfeldt is through to second round in Yonex Denmark Open after a great victory against Jiayuan Chen from Singapore 21-16/22-20.
The atmosphere in Odense Idrætshal reached the highest level so far in Yonex Denmark Open, when Line Kjærsfeldt played her last rally.
“It was really nice to play surrounded by so many people cheering for me.
The energy is so good, and even though you have difficulties during the match, they keep shouting your name,” the happy Dane says.
After the match Kjærsfeldt knew which part of her play that worked well.
“I believe I can win during the whole match. I believe that what I do is right and I keep calm in difficult situations,” she says.
Never give up
As in any match, there were some difficult times. During the second game, especially, where Kjærsfeldt was down 15-12.
“I think it frustrates her that I never give up”, Kjærsfeldt says.
Thursday she is going to face a really big challenge when meeting Wang Yihan from China, winner of the tournament back in 2010. She is seeded number five in the tournament. But even though it might scare somebody it doesn’t scare the young Dane.
“It’s not every day you get the chance to play against one of the best players in the world. I like being the underdog and I’m really looking forward to the match.”
