Smiling and looking relaxed in a little too big training shirt, The 18 year old World Champion, Ratchanok Inatanon, seems ready to do her best in this year’s Yonex Denmark Open.
The young talented player from Thailand has not played a tournament since her victory at the World Championship in August. She has been kept away from the courts due to a back injury.
Tuesday she met the Danish and international press at the press conference and revealed her expectations.
“I just came back from an injury, so I do not want to put a lot of pressure on my self”, Ratchanok Inatanon said.
“I have to make it to the quarterfinals and then afterwards I will take it match by match.”
Asked about her young age and if it influences her to be much younger than here components, the 18 year old girl answered:
“ It’s an open tournament and everything can happen, but age doesn’t matter. It’s all about quality in your play”.
Ratchanok Inatanon holds several age related records. She is the youngest player to ever win a Super Series Tournament (India Open 2013), the youngest player to be in a Wimbledon Finale and of cause… The youngest World Champion in women’s single.
