The event manager at Badminton Denmark, Brian Moesgaard, is one of the big coordinators at Yonex Denmark Open. From Odense he reports, that the setup is progressing as planned
But it is not without a sweat. Everybody is working at full throttle in Odense in order to get the Sports Park ready for Yonex Denmark Open, which commences Tuesday. The event manager at Badminton Denmark, Brian Moesgaard, is coordinating the setup, and he reports about a busy, but yet productive workday.
- Everything is progressing well, and we will get ready on time, even though it's some task turning a regular Danish sports hall into a scene worthy of the best badminton players in the world, says Brian Moesgaard and elaborates:
- Because it's not just the crowd facilities we have to prepare. It's also the practice halls, the meal provisioning, the lounge areas, the shuttle- and VIP transport, and so on.
A big team
Luckily for Moesgaard, he is not the only one who is running around in the hall these days. He has a large team of volunteers, and a few other leaders and coordinators, who each have their area of responsibility.
The volunteer band primarily consists of people from the local Odense Badminton Klub, Funen and its environs. Each year, this small army of active club people make themselves disposable, when the Danish Super Series tournament is at hand.
- It's just fantastic to see so many active volunteers sign up year after year in order to make Yonex Denmark Open a world class tournament.
You can feel it now
There is now less than three days to go before Yonex Denmark Open starts. The event manager, however, does not let himself be frightened of the now urgent deadlines, but focusses instead on what is about to take place.
- It'll be good to experience some world class badminton in Denmark again, and it looks like there are more than just me who are looking forward to it, since we're sold out of tickets several days. I hope that the atmosphere in the hall will be as good as last year, but everything points in that direction so far.
