The Badminton Denmark is seeking an experienced coach to join the national coaching team in the National Training Centre in Broendby, Denmark. 

The ideal candidate is an ambitious and result oriented coach, who is passionate about making Danish badminton players medal winners on the world stage. An understanding of working in a challenging and jointly demanding environment would be necessary.  

It is expected that the ideal candidate, through many years of coaching or playing badminton, has developed a comprehensive knowledge of high level tactics and international competition. Furthermore, experiences of working with players in groups and at an individual level in a high performance environment are of significant importance. There is an expectation for further development of competencies as a coach for the national team both through formal education and the working together in the team of coaches. 

The job role is divided into four main categories. The main duty pertains to the planning and execution of daily training. The individual planning and development work with selected players is a significant part of the work as a national team coach in Denmark. Furthermore, coaching and managerial responsibilities during international tournaments are required. The job requires an effective co-operation with the sporting directorate and the professional support personnel. In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to effectively perform some administrative duties as part of the coaching team.

The normal working week would include on court training in the mornings and one or two afternoon on court sessions. In addition to this are preparations, teamwork and meetings with players and support staff. The successful candidate would be expected to travel 60 days per year.

The final responsibilities and functions of this job will be determined on the basis of the ideal candidate’s experiences and expectations, while considering the demands of an effective coaching team.
