The draw for DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR is ready as we are moving closer to October 17 and the first round of the Superseries Premier-torunament.
First seed in men’s singles Son Wan Ho has been drawn against Anthony Ginting in the first round. Those two have one match against each other which Ginting won in three games at this year’s Korea Open.
Second seedet and “home town boy” Viktor Axelsen will face one of the players from the qualification. Lee Chong Wei will play against Pablo Abian, Lin Dan will face Ajay Jayaram and the winner from 2015, 2014 and 2013 Chen Long is up against Lee Hyun Il.
The world champion in women’s singles, Nozomi Okuhara (8), opens against Danish Mia Blichfeldt in their first match ever. Meanwhile Tai Tzu Ying (1) have to defeat Cheung Ngan Yi from Hong Kong in her bid of success in Odense.
The crowd will be looking forward to the clash between Saina Nehwal and Carolina Marin (5) who meet in their first round match.
In the men’s doubles home favourites Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen (1) have drawn a pair from the qualification. Mads Conrad-Petersen/Mads Pieler Kolding, also from Denmark, will play Manu Attri/Reddy Sumeeth and Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup plays Berry Angriawan/Hardianto Hardianto from Indonesia.
Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (1) are defending champions in the women’s doubles and they will face the young talents from Denmark Julie Finne-Ipsen and Rikke Søby. Meanwhile second seeded and world champions Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan have drawn against Lauran Smith/Sarah Walker from England.
Denmark’s best women’s double with Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen (3) will face a pair from the qulification in their first round match.
In mixed doubles the world champions Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (3) are facing Anton Kaisti/Jenny Nystrøm from Finland. They are in the same half as second seeded Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong from China who will face Lee Yang/Hsu Ya Ching. In the other half Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen (1) are going to play Mikkel Mikkelsen/Mai Surrow from Denmark.
