Today we will find the 2016 champions of Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa as it’s time for the finals here in Odense. It could very well be a day of blood, sweat and tears!

In women’s singles Akane Yamaguchi from Japan is seeded 8th. She has defeated several players with a higher seed than herself in order to be in today’s final. In the quarterfinal she took out Olympic bronze medallists Okuhara and in the semi-finals she came out victorious against Olympic champion Carolina Marina.

Today she faces Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei who also has a higher seed than Yamaguchi as she is seeded 5th.

This could be a very long and close match as both players have a sublime technical way of play and great movement on court.

Men’s singles is a match between the 6th seeded Son Wan Ho and the unseeded surprise Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk who has played a great tournament with many great victories. It will be exciting to see if he can take it all way and win his first Superseries Premier-title.

The last time the Danish crowd got a home court triumph was back in 2011 when Fischer and Pedersen won the mixed doubles. Today they have the chance to do it again as they face the young Chinese couple Zheng and Chen.

The Chinese’s have had a great year winning four tournaments, but today the will for sure have an entire arena full of opponents backing up the energetic Danes Fischer and Pedersen.

In men’s doubles we have another surprise as the unseeded Isara and Phuangphuapet from Thailand have made it all the way to the final. Today they will face their biggest challenge so far as Olympic silver medallists Goh and Tan from Malysia await.

Women’s double could also be very entertaining and close. The Olympic champions Matsutomo and Takahashi from Japan are facing Olympic bronze medallists Jung and Shin from Korea. Will the Japanese lose a set for the first time in the entire tournament?
