Olympic gold winners, world champions, Thomas Cup champions and many Danish profiles are present at this year’s Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa in Odense in week 42.
When Odense Idrætshal open the doors to the Super series Premier Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa Thuesday 18th it will be possible to watch some of the biggest stars in badminton.
No less than every player in top 15 in the men’s single are participating in the 65th Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa. That means the Olympic and world champion Chen Long, the world number one Lee Chong Wei and the legend Lin Dan will play.
Carolina Marin and Pusarla V. Sindhu are both present in Odense and maybe we will see a rematch between the two Olympic finalists.
Some of the biggest talents in women’s single like Intanon Ratchanok, Tzu Ying Tai, Nozomi Okuhara and Akane Yamaguchi are going to challenge them. Also the defending Danish champion Line Kjærsfeldt will try to do her best in front of the home crowd.
The 2016 edition of Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa mark the 10-year anniversary of Odense Idrætshal as host for this big event. It’s the perfect occasion for Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe to repeat their triumph from 2010 where the Danish double won the tournament.
On their way to success it's possible they have to beat the Olympic bronze medal winners Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge, the Olympic silver medalists Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan or big names as Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa and Chai Biao/Hong Wei.
Mads Conrad-Petersen/Mads Pieler Kolding and Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup from the Danish Thomas Cup-team will also be playing with Dannebrog on their chest in the chase of success.
Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl who won Olympic silver in Rio have the change to get a rematch against Ying Luo/Yu Luo from China who the Danes lost to in the group stage.
Big women’s double names as Kyung Eun Jung/Seung Chan Shin, Nitya Maheswari/Greysia Polii, Selena Piek/Eefje Muskens and the former world number one Ma Jin who is playing together with her partner from 2014 Qianxin Zhong are also going for the top step of the podium.
It is an honor to announce that the best Danish mixed double with Christinna Pedersen and Joachim Fischer are going to participate in Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa.
