Sir Craig Reedie visited Denmark during the UCI Road World Championships and commented on the Danish way to celebrate and stage major, international sports events, and stressed the unique experience and tradition Denmark has within badminton.
“It works!” says IOC member and former president of the International Badminton Federation, when commenting on the Danish way to stage major sports events. “There is a happy marriage between the federations and Sport Event Denmark, that makes staging in
Denmark so successful,” he continues.
Denmark has staged the BWF World Championships twice before and, says Reedie, the Danish set-up in 1983 was so successful that it put badminton on the Olympic Program.
