There are many traditions associated with the Copenhagen Masters, and to all the Danish players it’s a very unique tournament, and especially for superstar Peter Gade:
- It has a very special place in my heart. First and foremost I love to play in the intimate atmosphere and the fantastic support you get from the audience. They sit very close to the court and there are only played on one court. We have the opportunity to show the Danish audience some subtleties that we do not usually do. When I stand on the court during Masters, I am 100 percent ready, "says Peter Gade.

The tournament is an invitational tournament, being played in four events - men's singles, women’s singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles are back this year with a strong field. This includes an exiting re-match when world champions Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Thomas Laybourn face the world championships’ silver medallists Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir from Indonesia.

- I've missed playing Masters and am really pleased that mixed doubles is back again. We have won the tournament before, and there is always a great atmosphere in Falconer. It is a unique tournament with only one court - and it is located in Copenhagen and it is Christmas - it is really nice and we are looking very much forward to play the tournament, says Thomas Laybourn, who is finally ready after his injury.

But the Danish world championships’ bronze medallists and recent winners of the Super Series Finals, Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen, is also participating when it starts on 27 December in Falconer.
- I am looking very much forward to it - it is cool that mixed is back again. It is a tournament I've seen since I started playing badminton. It is very special as a Dane to play Masters – it is for me, "says Christinna Pedersen, who will play Masters for the first time.

In men's doubles, we can present the Olympic gold medallists Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan and an exciting young Malaysian pair Mak Hee Chun and Tan Wee Kiong. But the two Danish top pairs - Jonas Rasmussen/Lars Paaske, who won the tournament last year, and Carsten Mogensen/Mathias Boe, who this year have distinguished themselves as the best Danish couple, are both ready to fight for the title in the men's doubles.
- It means a lot for me to come and play in front of a big croud, hopefully. There is a relaxed atmosphere, which means you can do a little more spectacular shots. It is a tournament of high international quality, which we of course want to win, ends Mathias Boe, who last year lost in the finals to Jonas Rasmussen and Lars Paaske.
