World Champion Thomas Laybourn, former Danish national coach Steen Pedersen and former top player Salim Sameon from Malaysia today gave a lot of young badminton players a fantastic experience. Before the semi finals they had arranged a training session to show the Danish children how to practice like the elite.
10-year old Helena and 9-year old Alberte from Svendborg were two of the young participants.
- It was fun to try some things we were not use to but it was tough to practice like the elite, said the two girls, who learned a lot today.
After playing badminton they took a well-deserved break at the spectator seats so they could watch the semi finals and learn even more from the best badminton players in the world.
Around 30 children participated in the event here at Denmark Open. Later today they also have the chance to get autographs from the players and win their t-shirts. | | BadmintonPhoto |
