The Dane faced Jie Yao from Holland, who beat the 3rd and the 6th seed of the tournament on her way to the semi final.The match started out very close. Midway through the set it looked like the Dutch player had the edge, as she took a 15 – 13 lead. However, Tine Rasmussen turned the game around immediately and won the following five points. She held on to the lead for the rest of the set, which she won 21 – 18.
In the second set Rasmussen had the upper hand right from the beginning. Quickly, she took a four point lead. She never looked back and won the set comfortabely 21 – 14. Tine Rasmussen will play first seed Chinese Yihan Wang in the final to be played tomorrow. The two top seeded players also clashed in the All England final in March 2009. Back then Wang was the stronger player, but tomorrow Tine Rasmussen will be keen on taking revench in front of the Danish Crowd.
After today’s match the second seed Dane were pleased with her own performence.
