Before the four final matches Denmark’s talents could still dream of getting all for seats for the main draw.
But one pair just cruised through their qualification – the English Chris Adcock and Andrew Ellis had no trouble finding their way into the main round.
In their final they sent out a great fighting Mark-Philip Winther/Peter Mørk-couple and are therefore in the main draw as expected.
In the first round Adcock/Ellis will face another pair from the qualification, the young Danes Morten Bødskov and Jakob Staael.
The talented Danes won against their local training partners, Anders Rasmussen and Mats Bue after a long match. And also a German pair managed to beat a Danish double – Michael Fuchs and Oliver Roth played the longest double today while beating Martin Bille Larsen and Jacob Chemnitz 21-18 in the rubber set.
Afterwards Fuchs and Roth were very pleased with their performance. They only just started to play together, but despite their new partnership the Germans are filled with confidence and are convinced they will win tomorrow’s match against a Croatian couple.
The last pair through to the main draw is the bronze medalists from the Junior World Championships, Rasmus Fladberg and Kim Astrup. They won their final in two sets, but they need to play their a game to have a chance tomorrow against Hashimoto and Hirata, seeded 4.
