Markis Kido and Pia Zebediah Bernadeth were no match for Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen who easily beat the Indonesians by 21-6 / 21-12.
Today's evening session commenced with a round of mixed doubles. Here the Indonesian visitors, Markis Kido and Pia Zebediah Bernadeth, were up against no other than the three time champions Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen.
Fischer and Pedersen have arrived at Frederiksberg with a massive confidence boost from their success in Malaysia earlier this month, where they won the Super Series finals and did so by beating several of the world's best duos.
No doubt about the outcome
Tonight, the Danes would prove to be the better pair once again. They gave the audience what they wanted, a well played and energetic performance and in the end a victory that was nowhere near threatened throughout the match.
25 minutes was all it took for Fischer and Pedersen to win the match and secure their ticket to yet another final at Yonex Copenhagen Masters. The Danes won by 21-6 / 21-12.
- We were motivated
After the match, Joachim Fischer was quite convinced about what gave them such a huge victory.
- Even though it's been Christmas, we've kept ourselves going. There has been a lot of tournaments this year, and it's a tight calendar, but we would love to do a good job here on home court. And I think it was obvious, that our motivation made all the difference today, Fischer said after the match.
- It's always nice to play in Denmark. We would love to do well in front of the home crowd, and I think tomorrow's final will be a quite entertaining match for them. We know each other so well, so I think it will be a close call against Mads and Kamilla (Kolding and Rytter Juhl, ed.), he added.
