Women’s double Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl ensured the first Danish spot in the final as they defeated Japanese Reika Kakiiwa/Myyuki Maeda in Saturday’s semi-final.
Despite the fact that second game went totally wrong for the two Danes, Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl managed to pull themselves trough to the final at this year’s Yonex Denmark Open. They defeated their Japanese opponents 21-17/7-21/ 21-8.
“It’s crazy to be in the final. We were playing really badly in the second game, but when you have a whole crowd cheering for you here at home court, then it’s not a problem to pull yourself up and take the third game”, a very happy Christinna Pedersen said after the match.
She thinks that her partner deserves being praised for playing a great match with a lot of powerful strokes.
“When Kamilla smash like she does today, it makes a really big difference”, Christinna Pedersen says.
