Ratchanok Intanon didn’t have any problems defeating Michelle Chan Ky from New Zeeland. After just a little more than half an hour she finished the game, which ended 21-9/21-11.
She is only 18 years old and already world champion. After Wednesday night matches she is also one step closer winning Yonex Denmark Open.
“It was really good to be playing again after to month of injury. This is my first match since the world championship in august. I did my best to relax on the court and it helped me a lot” Ratchanok says.
Because she has been away from badminton this long, there were some things, she would like to improve.
“I’m nervous because of my injury, and there for my foodwork isn’t good enough yet,” the young star says.
Enjoyed the crowed
Ratchanok Intanon is very popular in her home country Thailand, and it showed this night in Odense Idræsthal, where a lot of people were cheering her on and waving Thailand’s flag.
“I could hear them on the court and it was really nice. I try the best I can all the time,” Ratchanok says.
