Kim Bruun from Denmark almost made it

The young Dane almost made it to the main draw, when he Tuesday afternoon faced Lee Dong Keun from Korea. But he ended up losing in three matches, and therefor there are no Danish men’s singles from the qualification through to the main draw.

If you compare the two players on the world ranking list Lee Dong Keau is 86 places better than Kim Bruun, but it didn’t show in this match. Bruun forced his strong opponent into playing 3 matches, but lost in the end 21/9-21/-18/21-21/18.

“I’m really annoyed with the result right now. I think I wanted to win a bit too much. I just really would have liked to play in the main draw against Lee Chong Wei,” Kim Bruun says.

But even though he did loose, he still thinks he learned a lot from the tournament.

“I think I played a really good tournament and I really enjoy playing here,” the young Dane says.
