New Badminton World Federation President Poul-Erik Hoyer has resigned as President of Badminton Europe with immediate effect.
This move follows the Dane’s election as BWF President last month, succeeding Korea’s Dr. Kang Young Joong. Hoyer had led the continental confederation since August 2010 but will now focus his attention on serving badminton’s global community.
His resignation has been accepted by the Badminton Europe Council which has announced BEC Vice-President Joao Matos of Portugal will assume the presidency until the Annual Delegates’ Meeting next April.
