It’s the day of the finals here in Odense, and the big question today is: who will be the champions and who will have to settle for being runner-ups?

They’ve been fighting hard and playing amazing badminton throughout the week to get to go on court today. The finalists have without a doubt had a hard week but today they’re going to give their all and a bit more when they’re fighting each other for the trophies here in Odense.

In women’s singles, Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand and Akane Yamaguchi from Japan are facing each other and that could be a good, dramatic and long match. Yamaguchi has an 8-6 record against Ratchanok and has also won their two latest matches.

Ratchanok will without a doubt fight with everything she’s got today when she plays her second final this year.

- It will be my second time in a final this year and I think my performance in the semifinal was really good. I don’t think about that I can be a champion if I win the final and It will not be easy for me, she says and reveals that she’s also fighting for someone else but herself.

- It is really sad for Thailand because the King passed away a year ago, so I think that I have to make him proud. I have to prepare for it so I can make a good performance.

In men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth finds himself in yet another final. The Indian has had a great year, and today he is looking to win another title as he takes on “the favorite-killer” Lee Hyun Ill ho has defeated both Son Wan Ho and Chen Long on his way to the final.

Men's doubles is a clash between the world champions Zhang Nan/Liu Cheng and the world no. one Kevin Sukamuljo/Marcus Gideon. What a match that could turn out to be!

In Mixed doubles, Zheng Siwei/Chen Quingchen are facing quite a surprise in this tournament, Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet from Hong Kong China, who are in their first Superseries Premier-final this year. Can they make the surprise complete and go all the way?

Women’s doubles is the first match on the tomorrow’s schedule of play. Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan from Korea are up against Japanese Shiho Tanaka/Koharu Yonemoto. They have only played each other once before, back in 2016, where the Japanese came out victorious.

One thing is for sure, today will be a great day of world-class badminton here in Odense as our champions at DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR are to be found! The play starts at 12.30 PM and the doors open at 11 AM.
