In the men's doubles' category at Yonex Denmark Open, several new constellations are featured. Especially the qualification shall be interesting to follow
There is now less than three weeks to go before Yonex Denmark Open 2012 will take place in Odense Sports Park. The draw will be made on the second of October, but already now it is clear who will be playing in the various categories at the Super Series Premier tournament.
Throughout these days, Badminton Denmark give you an overview of the players who are playing in the various categories. Today is about the men's doubles category, which on paper is the category that is probably most interesting to follow because of all the new top constellations, who will have to play themselves through the qualification tournament before they can compete equally with the already established top pairs in the main tournament.
No world No. 1's
Couples like Cai and Fu, Koo and Tan and Boe and Mogensen are known all over the world for their status as some of the best in the world in the men's doubles discipline. They are all three, along with many other top pairs, included in the program at this year's edition of Yonex Denmark Open.
The only top pair you will no longer find in the program, is the constellation consisting of Lee Yong Dae and Jung Jae Sung. That is because the latter chose to end his career after the recently completed Olympics. However, Lee Yong Dae is far from finished on the international badminton scene, which is why he now has a new partner, this in the shape of Ko Sung Hyun.
Of exciting couples that are found in the qualification program, are, among other, Danish Jonas Rasmussen and Joachim Fischer Nielsen, Thai Sudket Prapakamol and Songphon Anugritayawon and Chinese Chai Biao and Zhang Nan who, by the way, have just won China Masters.
Exciting Danish pairs
As written, both Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen and Jonas Rasmussen and Joachim Fischer Nielsen are among the Danish couples who feature at Yonex Denmark Open. However, they are not the only ones.
The main event will also find the constellations consisting of Mads Pieler Kolding/Christian Skovgaard and Mads Conrad-Petersen/Rasmus Bonde. In the qualification tournament, you can experience no less than five Danish couples apart from the Rasmussen/Fischer-constellation.
Remember, there is no entrance fee on the day of the qualification tournament, which is Tuesday the 16th of October.
