Today some of the world’s greatest players in four categories will be in action as they defend their spot in DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR in the first round.

The second day of the DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR will not disappoint its audience. Tuesday’s winners will once again perform masterclass badminton when they go on court to face the players from the main draw.

Tuesday it became clear that the no. two seed in men’s single in this tournament and world champion, Danish Viktor Axelsen will face Japanese Takuma Ueda. Those two gentlemen have met four times before. The last one was when Viktor Axelsen defeated Takuma Ueda in the World Championships this year, so maybe Takuma will get his revenge today? Nonetheless it will be a thrilling match and a must see for a badminton fan.
Also Indian Kidambi Srikanth who is no. eight seed in the tournament has found his opponent, who will be Indian Subhankar DEY. Before Srikanth was defeated in the World Championships by Son Wan Ho, Srikanth won both Australian Open and Indonesia Open. Since the World Championships Srikanth haven’t won a tournament, but maybe DANISA DENMARK OPEN presented by VICTOR can change his course.

Another intense match is on the march as the no. five seed in women’s singles Spanish Carolina Marin will meet the former World Champion Saina Nehwal from India. They have met each other on court eight times in total, four wins to Marin and four wins to Nehwal. This adds up to an exciting match that will demand a lot of attention all over the world.

Moreover we are excited to see the women’s single player Cheung Ngan Yi from Hongkong when facing the first seed in this tournament Taiwanese Tai Tzu Ying who won four tournaments in a row in the winter and fall of 2017, including Asia Championships.
Furthermore, the crowd here in Odense will be able to see when Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk from Thailand and NG Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong face each other in a most likely nerve-racking match. Saensomboonsuk is twelfth seed and NG Ka Long Angus is ninth seed and those two players have met five times before whereas NG Ka Long Angus has won three of them. Tanongsak also won last years version of this tournament.

Last but not least we must mention the match between Chinese Chen Long and Korean Lee Hyun Il. Lee Hyun Il lost the semifinal in Australian Open to Chen Long in June. Could this be his time to get revenge? We are looking forward to finding out.

We are definitely ready to witness an intense and exciting Wednesday with some of the biggest stars in the world and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we will.
