In the period from 16th to the 21st  October 2012, the doors to one of the world's greatest badminton tournaments will be opened up in Odense, Yonex Denmark Open.

Through the times, Yonex Denmark Open has featured many great players. And with a current status as a Super Series Premier tournament, the Danish badminton population can rest assured that all the best players will show up.

In 2011, Yonex Denmark Open was promoted to Premier status, which already in the autumn of the same year was clear, when both Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Wang Yihan and all the other big names featured in the tournament.

Top badminton in the front row
Like last year, the tournament this year is played in Odense Sports Park. In the evocative hall with the intimate atmosphere, the spectators really get the opportunity to sit close to the courts and the players and thus literally experience topbadminton at close range.

There are being played in all five categories, with qualification on Tuesday the 16th October. The first rounds of mixed doubles are played the same day. There will be no entrance fee in order to experence the tournament that day.

Over the six days between the 16th to the 21st October, a total of 297 players from 29 countries will be in H. C. Andersens birthplace.

Are you going?
In the star-studded parade of elite players from around the world that make up the tournament, there is one man who there will be just a bit more focus on. That man is Peter Gade, whom you for the last time can experience play a major tournament on home soil.

Peter Gade ends his professional career in December during the Yonex Copenhagen Masters, whereas the last opportunity to experience him competing for world raking points against the best players in the world, is in week 42 in Odense.
