Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen played themselves into the Yonex Copenhagen Masters final in mixed doubles category

The first match in the doubles category at this year's Yonex Copenhagen Masters was in the mixed doubles. The currently  best mixed double of Denmark, Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen, was up against Indonesian Nova Widianto and Pia Bernadeth and there was no doubt that the Danes had a good start.

From the beginning of the first set the Danes were in the lead, and Fischer and Pedersen was ahead 7-2 and 11-6. The Danes took the set with 21-8.

- We had the spped we had hoped. Every time we play, we try to play up to our best and we didn’t look much on our opponents today, says Christinna Pedersen.

The best of Denmark
The two Danes played in a higher gear than the two Indonesians who do not normally play together. And the Danish home audience did indeed support their local heroes.

The two couples went to 6-6, but then it was the Danes who had momentum. Six Danish points in a row broke the Indonesians, and Fischer and Pedersen are ready for the finals with 21-8 21-13 in their semifinal.

- It's great to play here. There is a great atmosphere here, so I am looking forward to the finals in the morning, said Chris Pedersen.

The two Danes meet either Danish Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter Juhl or the two Thais Sudket/Saralee in the final.
