Today is qualification day, and the young Danish talents are up against strong opponents.

Anne Skelbæk and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen are through to the qualification final after beating a  pair from Chinese Taipei in two sets.

- I think we played really weel. We didn’t make any stupid mistakes, so it was a good match for us, says Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.
Anne Skelbæk elaborates:

- I think it will be tough to get through to the main draw, but I think we have a chance, says the Anne Skelbæk.

Tough opponents
Jacob Staal and Sara Thygesen was also playing qualification round today. They played Marcus Ellis and Heather Olver in their first match. The Danes fought well but that wasn’t enough to beat the English pair who won in three sets.

First match was also the last for Danish duo Kim Astrup and Line Kjærsfeldt. They were up against a Korean pair who was too good for the Danes. But the young Danes were proud of their performance.

- We kept on fighting and kept on trying to do the right things. Even though we didn’t win the match, we still believe we did what we could do, says Kim Astrup.

Delbo and Grebak out
Mikkel Delbo and Lena Grebal met a Korean pair that was seeded fourth in the qualification and unfortunately for the Danes it was the Korean pair who took the victory 21-11 21.14

Christian Skovgaard and Maria Røpke suffered the same destiny as Delbo and Grebak when they were defeated by another Korean couple.
