The Adcocks: Being married to your badminton partner can be a great advantage

You might have noticed that one of the pairs in the Mixed Doubles share a last name. The Adcock couple see their marriage as an advantage, and so far their results at Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa seem to back up that thesis as they today advanced to the quarter finals.

In the Mixed Doubles at Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa one of the couples doesn't just pair up on the badminton court, they also pair up for life. Gabrielle and Chris Adcock are married and heir marriage comes with advantages, when they are playing badminton.

- We travel a lot playing badminton, so it is great that you have your wife with you, so you don't have to miss someone at home, said Chris Adcock.

And today the husband and wife put up a great effort, when they played their way to the quarter finals at Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa.

- We stuck to our plan, and I think we executed pretty much perfectly today. I'm really happy with the way we played, said Gabrielle Adcock.

In the round of 16 they beat the Indonesian pair Jordan and Susanto with the score 21-8/21-12, and seemed to have the match under control all the way through.

No time for sighseeing yet

Even though the British couples have been in Odense for a couple of days now, there haven't been much time for anything besides badminton.

- We haven't had any time for sightseeing yet, but hopefully we will be here for the entire weekend and maybe have a look around Odense, said Gabrielle Adcock

- Yeah, but we're hoping to be playing all days, so hopefully not though, added Chris Adcock with a laugh.

If you want to see the Adcocks play at Yonex Denmark Open presented by Danisa, you can still buy tickets here.
