In the opening press conference, Mathias Boe admitted that the level of play had not been good enough in the training center lately. But since the beginning of Denmark Open the top seeded Danes have increased their level of play.
In Friday’s quarter final Mogensen and Boe played the young Malaysians Mak and Tan. And despite a good effort from the Malaysian challengers, Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe had the power of the game from the very start. Winning 21-16 and 21-12 they are ready for the next stage, and Mathias Boe is happy that they have increased the level:

- I think we increased a little bit again today. I feel we have the control all the way even though they hang on for a while they had to let go. It is extremely important we keep them away far from us and we don’t commit many mistakes, Mathias Boe says.
Tomorrow they will face a Japanse pair and about the Japanese doubles Mathias Boe comments:

- The Japanese get many shuttles over the net, they hit quite hard and they have a great defensive. But our game plan tomorrow will almost be the same as today, he says.
The opponents will be the winner of the all Japanese contest between Hashimoto/Hirata and Hirobe/Kazuno.
