The Dane got off to a difficult start in the first set being dominated by Firdasari. The Indonesian put on heavy pressure from the beginning and Rasmussen never found her best game. She simply made too many easy mistakes. Firdasari won the first set comfortably 21 – 11.

The second set started out much better for Rasmussen. She took a narrow lead in the beginning of the set and halfway through the set she extended the lead to 11 – 5. As Rasmussen started playing better the home crowd showed their support, cheering after every single point she won. The second seed Dane won the second set by 21 – 13.

Firdasari made a good start in the third set taking a 4 – 1 lead. However, Rasmussen was soon to take charge of the game and led by 11 – 7, as they switched sides. Rasmussen dominated the rest of the set winning it by 21 – 15.

After the match Tine Rasmussen spoke to us about the match. “In the first set I couldn’t get my game going and I didn’t move the way I should, but in the second set I tried to think positive and play my own game. That made the difference,” she said. Watch the whole interview, click here
