Boonsak Ponsana is currently ranked as number seven in the world and with Peter Gade as number three, the scene was set for a world class men’s singles final.

And from the very beginning it was clear that the audience were ready to see their favourite back on the throne, as Peter Gade was welcomed by loads of clapping and cheering as he entered the court.

And Gade did not let his crowd down. The Dane seemed eager to prove himself on home court, and even though the first set was close until the break, Gade soon started to pull away, winning the set 21-11.

In the second set Gade was unstoppable and Boonsak Ponsana never really stood a chance. With the scores 21-11 21-12, Peter Gade made a statement saying that this tournament is his specialty.

This means, that Peter Gade is back as the king of Masters taking his title number 10.

-I'm really happy, it feels fantastic. I actually did not expect to win this time, having been injured. But match by match I have been getting better, and today I was able to play well with good speed, so I really enjoyed it, Peter Gade says.

At the same time, it shows that Gade is putting his back injury behind him and looking in good shape towards the Super Series Season Finals coming up in a week.

-This is an important step proving to myself that I am getting better. So that gives me great confidence, and I can take that with me. But still, I will be playing against 8 of the best players in the world, so I need to take one match at the time, Gade says.
