Last year, they came so close and this year it finally happened. Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe took home their first Denmark Open title together.

-Its wonderful. We are delighted. Last year we were the runner-ups and today we stepped up and won so it is a fantastic feelig, Mathias Boe says.

Their opponents in the final were one of the best couples in world, Hendra Setiawan and Markis Kido from Indonesia, but the Danes seemed more than ready for them.

After half an hour the home crowd witnessed the Danes lying flat on the ground in celabration of taking home the victory as they won 21-13 21-12. And this match was no different from the rest of this week’s matches, as Boe and Mogensen have won all their matches in straight sets.

-We have gotten better and better during the tournament. We have had some close matches, but we have been quite cool in the end of each set, says Carsten Mogensen

The crowd have gone along with the pair each step of the way and after the prize ceremony Mogensen and Boe got the chance to express their appreciation of the crowd’s support.

-Thank you so much, you have been awesome, Mathias Boe said as he addressed the audience during a live interview.

The men’s doubles victory is the third Danish title at this year’s Denmark Open. Jan Ø. Jørgensen won the men’s singles and Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Thomas  Laybourn took home the mixed double title.
