Paaske/Rasmussen started best and took the lead 4-0 before Boe/Mogensen got their game going. But it was difficult for them to determine the rallies because Paaske/Rasmussen all the time pulled trough with an excellent defence.
The match became more and more intense but still it was Paaske/Rasmussen who won the points. They took the set 21-16.
In the beginning of second set Boe/Mogensen made a lot of mistakes and they came behind 9-2. They seemed a bit frustrated and looked like they did not know what to do. Paaske/Rasmussen on the other hand succeeded with almost everything.
It began getting close when Boe/Mogensen took five points in a row and went from 15-7 to 15-12. It shocked their opponents. Suddenly the score was 17-17 and then the match got really intense before the routine once again found their foothold and won the set 22-20.
- We played really well today. Until the score was 15-7 in second game we haven’t made a mistake. But then we began to hesitate a bit because we thought it already was a safe win, said Jonas Rasmussen.
Carsten Mogensen also had a comment on the game.
- Right now we are quite disappointed but the most ridiculous thing is, that even though we were playing so badly we were almost about to win the title, he said.
Paaske/Rasmussen also defeated Boe/Mogensen last year. This year the routine triumphed again and Boe/Mogensen have to wait another year to get another chance to take revenge. | |
