Young Dane Jan Ø. Jørgensen got off to a difficult start, when he faced Eric Pang from Holland in his second round match of Denmark Open. The Dutchman took a five point lead, as he went in front by 12 – 7. Jørgensen made a lot of unforced errors and looked uninspired. Eric Pang took the first set easily by 21 – 9.
The second set started out a lot better for Jørgensen, who had the support of the home crowd. Eric Pang fought his way back into the set and even took the lead, but Jørgensen managed to step up again and take the set comfortably by 21 – 13.
A good start on the third set by the Dane. He went in front 4 – 0 before the Dutchman made his first point. As they switched sides Jørgensen led by 11 – 4. Now it was Eric Pang making the easy mistakes. Jørgensen had no problems winning the third set 21 – 11.

Peter Gade faced Anand Pawar from India in his second round match. It turned out to be an easy match for the Dane, as Pawar retired at 2 – 5 in the first set, due to a back injury.

Third seed Dane Joachim Persson played Indian qulifier R. M. V. Gurusaidutt. Both players showed great fighting spirit and gave the crowd an intense three set match. In the end it was the young Indian, who came out on top. He won the match 17 - 21, 21 - 12 and 21 – 19. | | BadmintonPhoto |
