Dicky the troublemaker

The spectators shuddered, Dicky Palyama was barbing and Peter Gade was scarily quiet. Nobody had imagined this scenario. Dicky Palyama had won the first game 21/16 and was in front on the scoreboard in the next game as well.

Dicky was in total control as a consequence of his stunning play at the net. But suddenly the picture began to change. Peter Gade’s offensive strokes were finally inside the lines, and he seemed to have regained the power of the match. He forced the match in to a rubber set by the 21/15-win in the second game.

And just as the crowd could breathe calmly again, the game tipped one last time. Dicky managed to play smarter than Gade and kept his lead. By winning 21/15 in the last game, Dicky is through to the men’s singles final.
- I was very motivated and I wanted to play with a higher speed than him. He normally does that, so I tried to change it today, Dicky Palyama says.

He is going to rest in Copenhagen and talk to some old Danish friends before the final on Tuesday night.
- Jan and Simon are both great players, but the Indonesians look sleepy this tournament. They are not playing like Peter or the Chinese players, these two suits me well, Dicky comments on his opponents for the titel.
