Jan Ø. Jørgensen lost against Simon Santoso in Denmark Open back in October, but at Copenhagen Masters he got his revenge. The Dane was full of confidence in his match against the Indonesian. He started out taking the lead 11-2 before Santoso woke up and took a lot of points in a row. He went from 11-2 to 14-13 before the Dane regained focus and won the set 21-17.
The crowd was about to see even more from the talented Dane. Jan Ø. Jørgensen kept on impressing in second set. The rallies became more intense and well played but Jan Ø. Jørgensen was most of the time a step ahead his opponent. It was close but finally he pulled it through and won second set 21-16.
The young Dane is now facing Dicky Palyama who earlier today defeated Peter Gade. - I have beat him twice and I have great opportunities to beat him again. It would have been nice to meet Peter Gade in the final. After all he is the King of this tournament. But now it is great to have the crowd cheering only for me so hopefully I will go all the way, says Jan Ø. Jørgensen. | | BadmintonPhoto |
