Paris, September 2nd 2010 The foundation SOLIBAD – Badminton Without Borders - was given a major boost with hot news to share during the recently held World Championships in Paris, France. Big guns from the badminton circuit joined the foundation as Ambassadors such as Lee Yong Dae of Korea and Kenichi Tago from Japan, while Rexy Mainaky, former Olympic Gold medalist, accepted SOLIBAD’s offer to become one of the 4 coaches in the world to represent SOLIBAD. Lee Yong Dae joins SOLIBAD and gives racket for auction Korea’s jewel Lee Yong Day made public in Paris his will to join SOLIBAD – Badminton Without Borders – as the Ambassador for Korea. The Korean shuttler, Olympic champion in 2008 in mixed double, who is a star in his own country and everywhere in Asia, said he was keen on helping the foundation with its various projects. His first gesture towards the foundation was to offer the racket he play in the World Championships in Paris for auction with all benefits going to SOLIBAD The racket is being put to auction on September 11th and the auction will end on September 11th at 2 PM Paris time (8 PM in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and 9 PM in Seoul), on Lee Yong Dae’s birthday. Japan is backing it’s best shuttler’s wish to work with Solibad as The Yonex Japan Open, held in Tokyo from September 21st to 26th will be the first SUPER SERIES labeled SOLIBAD with various activities around the foundation during the event. | | Rexy Mainaky becomes one of the few Coach Ambassadors for SOLIBAD Former Olympic gold medalist Rexy Mainaky, national coach for Malaysia’s double squad also accepted SOLIBAD’s offer to become one of the few coaches who will be representing SOLIBAD. The Indonesian born Mainaky did not hesitate one second to join the team and vowed to help anyway he could amongst his fellow coaches to spread the word, but also talk to his players about SOLIBAD. Only 4 coaches in the world will be Solibad’s Ambassadors. France’s Fabrice Vallet has already accepted the offer, while two other top coaches yet to be revealed have been asked to join the team. Top Stars pose for SOLIBAD in Paris The badminton fans are in for a treat, as all Solibad’s Ambassadors but also major stars including recently crowned World Champions Chen Jin and Wang Lin posed for a special photo session with a French Photographer during the World Championships.
