At the finals of Yonex Copenhagen Masters tomorrow the Danish players will be dominating. Thus there were three Danish victories this afternoon, which in the evening session was followed by yet another three convincing victories for Danes on their home court at the Falconer Hall.
Three of the finals tomorrow will be exclusively Danish, and the historical women’s double will be partly Danish as the opponents of Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl are Suci Rizky Andini and Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah of Indonesia.
In the first semi-final of the evening Christinna Pedersen and Joakim Fischer defeated Riky Widianto og Puspita Richi Dili 21-12, 21-16. Christinna Pedersen is pleased to be joining her fellow Danes, Carsten Mogensen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl, at the final.
- I think it’s going to be an exciting, but also fun final. We are looking so much forward to it, and I hope that the audience is as well, Pedersen said.
Following the mixed double Anders Skaarup Rasmussen and Mads Conrad-Petersen had a convincing win against the Malaysian men’s double Yao Han Ow and Khim Wah Lim. 21-12, 21-11, and now Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen are the opponents in the final.
- We are better in every aspect of the game today. It’s going to be different tomorrow, but we will try our best and do everything in order to make it difficult for Mogensen and Boe, Mads Conrad-Petersen told.
To round of the day of the semi-finals Jan Ø. Jørgensen played Teck Zhi Soo from Malaysia. This resulted in a win for Jørgensen, who did as every other Dane today – won his match in two sets. The result was 21-18, 21-11. Viktor Axelsen is waiting in the final.
- I have to be even more ready tomorrow in order to defeat Viktor. It is going to be a tactical match, because we know each other so well, Jørgensen said.
The finals tomorrow will start at 2:00 PM.
