Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen won the first game of the 2015 Yonex Copenhagen Masters against the russian European Champions Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov.
The home crowd in the Falconer Hall in Copenhagen was satisfied after the first match of the 2015 Yonex Copenhagen Masters. However, home favorites Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen struggled in the beginning of the match with the Russians leading 11-9 at the first interval. Nevertheless, the Danes turned around the match and won 21-18.
- We have a lot of respect for the Russians. The play very aggressive on the serves and returns- They've got a very strong attack when Ivanov is smashing. So it was a very nice win for us, says Mathias Boe.
The defending european champions Ivanov and Sozonov also lead half way through the second set, but once again the Danes came from behind, avoiding another loss against the Russians as it happened in the semifinal at the European Championship. 21-15 was the final score that secured a Danish spot in the final.
