Women's Singles
Li Xuerui had her first real struggled when she lost the first game against American Beiwen Zhang 21-15. However, world number one played very convincingly in the following two games, proceeding to the semifinal with 21-15 21-12.
The only non-Chinese player to reach the semifinals in women's singles is fourth seed Korean Sung Ji Hyun. She faced P. V. Sindhu from India in an exhausting two games match. Sung Ji Hyun won the match 25-23 22-20 and will play Li Xuerui in the semifinals.
Wang Shixian also had a minor struggle in her match against Saina Nehwal from India. The Chinese won 22-20 21-15 and will face countryman Wang Yihan in the semifinal.
Men's Singles
The absence of Lee Chong Wei in the upper half have made it possible for some of the outsider to go all the way to the final. It could happen to seventh seed Korean Wan Ho Son. He won against Srikanth K. from India 23-21 21-17.
Wan Ho Son will play against Chinese left-handed Tian Houwei in the semifinal. Tian Houwei has eliminated fifth seed Tommy Sugiarto, former world number five Tien Minh Ngyuen and in the quarterfinal he defeated Boonsak Ponsana from Thailand.
Danish home favorite Jan Ø. Jørgensen got a disappointing defeat against Indian Parupalli Kashyap. He will now face world champion Chen Long in the semifinal.
Mixed Doubles
First seed Chinese Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei were forced to withdraw, because Zhao Yunlei got an injury in her women's doubles quarterfinal. Liu Cheng/Bao Yixin will proceed to the semifinal instead, facing the other Chinese mixed double Xu Chen/Ma Jin.
The lower half of the mixed doubles draw gave an Indonesian semifinal. Tontowi Ahmad/Lilyana Natsir beat Danish Mads Pieler Kolding/Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Riky Widianto/Puspita Richi Dili defeated the other Danes Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen.
Women's Doubles
Chinese Ma Jin/Tang Yuanting began Day 4 with an extraordinary double against countrymen Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei. Ma Jin/Tang Yuanting won the third game 21-19, securing a spot in the semifinal.
The will face Wang Xiaoli/ Yu Yang (F), who found their way to the semifinals by defeating Danish second seed Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl in three games.
The other semifinal will be a Japanese match. Sixth seed Reika Kakiiwa/Miyuki Maeda defeated first seed Chinese Bao Yixin/Tang Jinhua. The will play Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi in the semifinal.
Men's doubles
The world number one and first seed Koreans Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong won against Gideon Markus Fernaldi/Markis Kido from Indonesia 21-10 22-20, setting up an exciting semifinal for the home crowd. The Koreans will face the Danes Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen.
In the other semifinal we also find a Korean double. The world champions Ko Sung Hyun/Shin Baek Choel once again faced a match point, before once again turning around the match like they did in the first round. The Koreans won 14-21 24-22 21-10 against Chinese Liu Xiaolong/Qui Zihan.
The world champions will face the former multiple world champion Fu Haifeng and his new partner Zhang Nan. The Chinese defeated second seed Indonesians Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.
