On 3rd of September 2012 A&H Medical was established. We can therefore today celebrate our 3rd anniversary! For the last 3 years we have build our organisation from scratch and teamed up with new business partners to be able to act in a competitive field with customers ranging from consulting engineers, hospitals, public purchasers, pharmaceutical companies to contractors.    

Through these 3 years we have enlarged our portfolio of partners. It enables us to provide technical expertise, high quality products, reliable equipment, professional service and maintenance to our customers within the health care sector and the pharmaceutical industry in the Nordic region. Today we represent solutions from some of the leading companies in Europe: washers and sterilizers for the hospital sector and the pharmaceutical industry from German MMM Group, bio-decontaminating chambers, Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) generators and HPV service from Bioquell UK, pharma-grade washers from Italian IWT and UDF modules, Airshowers and Laminar Airflow solutions  in cooperation with Danish Scanbur.

Isolation of infectious patients

Hospitals struggle increasingly with clinical and financial challenges from Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI), which spread from patients receiving or recovering from treatment for medical or surgical conditions. Patients are often hospitalised in multi-bed units which demonstrates high rates of HAI transmissions. To reduce the risk of spreading nosocomial pathogens to other patients, health care workers or to the hospital environment Bioquell has developed an 'Infection Control Enclosure' the so-called Bioquell Pod. This makes hospitals able to rapidly increase the number of single patient containment rooms by converting multi-bed units into single patient rooms easily and without closing the unit.

The Bioquell Pod has several benefits: it is designed to minimise the spread of pathogens, tailored to each bed space to maximise patient care area, the installation is conducted without closing the unit, the in-let and out-let air is HEPA filtered, positive and negative pressure can be generated and it is equipped with specialist lighting. Finally the Bioquell Pod can be decontaminated with Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) technology in 45 minutes.

New bio-generator BQ-50

To decontaminate for example a hospital ward, an ambulance or a Pod Bioquell has developed the new HPV generator BQ-50. It is a small, lightweight and fast generator that 'bioquells' a room under 1 hour.  The BQ-50 has been developed in a close cooperation with the health care sector to design a generator that fits the needs from the hospitals. The BQ-50 deposits an even layer of 'micro-condensation' of HPV over all surfaces to eradicate the bugs. It is no longer necessary to enter data before start up, the generator assess the environmental conditions and the room size automatically to calculate the fastest cycle, just push the button to start the bio-decontamination.  'Bioquelling' a room leads to a significant reduction in the HAI rate and the BQ-50 can be used for an emergency response to an outbreak or as part of daily, weekly or monthly decontamination of a unit. 

Perfect combination

By combining the Bioquell Pod with the BQ-50 hospitals can easily convert multi-bed units into safe single patient rooms where pathogens are eliminated and the HAI are reduced significantly.
